Monopole Access and Rescue

Our monopole access and rescue course is tailored towards the unique hazards that telecom monopole workers encounter. These involve aspects of both working at heights and confined spaces related risks. Students will need to have a foundation in tower fall protection and a basic understanding of confined spaces safety in order to comprehend the topics covered in this training.

Objectives of the training

  • Be able to describe the purpose and use of PPE and fall protection equipment
  • Understand physical, atmospheric, biological and other hazards
  • Know how to reduce or eliminate monopole-related hazards
  • Be able to respond appropriately in an emergency situation
  • Know how to use a gas detector and ventilation system
  • Be able to safely perform various rescues from inside of a monopole telecom tower
